Tyco fulfills all tanker valve requirements
The UK road tanker manufacturer Clayton Commercials has met most of its tanker valve requirements using a single source, Tyco Valves and Controls. Tankers produced by Clayton are used throughout industry for transporting a wide range of products, from food to hazardous chemicals and bitumen. The valve requirements are dictated by the application itself or the end user's specifications. For use on chemical carrying road tankers, Tyco supplies a large number of lined butterfly valves from its Neotecha range, incorporating PTFE-lined bodies and PFA encapsulated-discs. These can withstand the majority of chemical products. To meet the special requirements of its bitumen road tankers, Clayton uses Winn high performance butterfly valves with plasma nitrided discs and inconel nitrided seats. Inherently fire-safe, these metal to metal valves are ideal for withstanding the abrasive nature of the bitumen and the extreme temperatures of up to 250°C. For hygienic duties, Clayton uses Keystone rubber lined butterfly valves with a one-piece wafer-thin disc/stem providing positive disc control with minimum flow obstruction. Featuring a crevice-free design, the Keystone valve eliminates the possibility of product entrapment and contamination. Clayton also uses a number of one-piece Ultra-Seal ball valves from the Hindle range for air lines, sampling points and when users have specified ball valves.
